Help Kate and Marty Pollard cover costs! PLEASE

Hi, my name is Sandy Drummond and Kate Pollard is my best friend. On January 14th, 2025, Kate's husband Martin(Marty) had a stroke at home shoveling snow for her parents. Kate and Marty moved in with her parents to help them after her dad Ed also had a stroke. They brought their 3 horses to her parents and Kate and I combined our sheep flock of 20 at my farm. Kate and Marty also have 5 dogs that are their hearts right after their daughter Tasha, her husband Mike, and their daughter Kora. Kate and Marty have huge hearts and have given their time to the community through the Dryden District Agricultural Society for years. Both of them work helping families and children for Tikinagan Child and Family Services. They are also huge Ice Dogs Fans and don't miss home games!

Marty had a heart attack in the first part of 2024 and had only been back to work in the fall and Kate has been off work with a knee issue so finances are very tight.

Marty's journey back to health will be a very long and precarious one. Since his stroke, he has had significant brain swelling that could only be relieved by taking out part of his skull but because of his previous heart issues he was on blood thinners. He had to be taken off of them so that they could reduce his risks of bleeding. He has a clot in his heart and the medical staff in Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre is monitoring it. It will be very up and down and unknown for some time yet. Kate and Tasha have not left his side in Winnipeg and will need some financial help to continue to do so and pay for their lives at home.
