Beloved ALTADENA home of 24 years destroyed.

Hello everyone. My name is Sarah Sullivan and I live in Austin, Texas.

My sister Kate and her husband Ed Verreaux lost their home on Jan. 8th, 2025 to the EATON FIRE in Altadena, CA.

They are artists that worked out of their home. Their entire house is gone and all of their belongings burned to the ground.

Everything they own...Ed’s art studio above the garage is GONE. All of Ed’d life work as production designer: his paintings and drawings and

original designs from ET, Mad Max, Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Contact, and so many more just gone.

Clothes, bedding, art, jewelry, creative work, Kate’s beautiful collections of her art work, Appliances, shoes, furniture, and most of all their beloved home of over twenty four years, where Kate tended her garden.

Because the fires in Altadena came up so fast with little warning, they were forced to evacuate quickly at 11pm at night... with no electricity to be able to see which possessions to gather. Grabbing their 3 cats and moving to shelter. Sadly, it ALL burned to the ground.

They are now in great need to find shelter so they can figure out how to move forward. They only have the clothes on their back, and that is it. They are in Shock. Please help them to find their footing.

Kate is a fearless organizer/environmental activist of neighborhood projects. In 2010, she organized a tree project with her neighbors. Together they planted 50 Pink Trumpet trees to beautify their street.

Many houses are gone from the fires, but some of the trees that they planted are still alive.

Your donations will be sent directly to the Verreaux Family. Your donations will help them get their basic needs covered: Housing, food, and anything that may need at this very vulnerable time in their lives. Any size donation will help and be greatly appreciated.
