Support Kate’s Recovery From Car Accident
Donation protected
My sister, Kate, was the passenger in a very bad car accident on the morning of Wednesday, May 14th.
Miraculously (according to the first responders it was very bad even for the things they see) she survived and is going to live. But she has life-altering injuries and has not been conscious since the accident.
My mom, Donna, has been by her side this whole time and will be in Pittsburgh to be with her until Kate is able to leave the hospital. This will likely be months.
Even after that, Kate will have a long road to recovery and not be able to work for quite awhile.
The pictures are of a trip the two of them had just returned from. Kate had gone into DuBois to work and on the way back she was the passenger in the wreck. I didn’t feel it was appropriate to share pictures of her in the ICU or the accident.
Donna and Kate need our support.
Anything will help. They are getting aid, but the cost of staying with Kate for months in the hospital will be a major strain on their finances without our help.
If you want to help financially, that is very helpful and keeps their focus on recovery. You can either donate here or ask privately for my mom’s Venmo/PayPal.
Or if you prefer, you can help by:
- Comment or message one of us with a good story or memory with Kate.
- Sharing this with other people who know Kate or my mom, Donna.
- Send cards, you can use https://ecards.upmc.com/ or mail to:

We might have more specifics about the bills later, but for now, support for Donna staying with her would be a great help. And anything else will also go towards helping with Kate’s bills while she’s still in the hospital and the costs of my mom being with her.
