Early morning on Monday, January 12, Kate Mozynski and Ben Malkevitch were awoken to a police officer banging on their door as their house was on fire .
Thankfully, they, their duplex neighbors, and all of their pets are safe and housed, but now they have to start the process of rebuilding their lives. They now face the cost of replacement of many of their belongings and finding a new place to live after almost ten years.
Kate and Ben are wonderful friends, neighbors, community members, and advocates! Now they need our help after this horrible tragedy.
Your donation will help:
- Ben be able to take some time off work to recover, be with their family, and determine next steps together with Kate, as Ben does not receive paid leave at their job.
- Moving and repair of damaged property.
- Replace items and furniture that cannot be saved.
- Move back into permanent housing.
