This is extremely uncomfortable for me to create a GoFundMe and ask people for money. At the request of many direct messages and feedback, I am deciding to create this account because the truth is, I need help. On January 1st, my car was broken into while I was walking my friend's dog on a trail. It's a popular trail and there were plenty of cars in the parking lot. I left my camera gear hidden in my vehicle for a short period of time and someone decided to vandalize my vehicle and steal thousands of dollars of photo equipment. A DSLR with two lenses, a drone and its controller, along with extra batteries, a GoPro, SD cards, various articles of winter gear, and a really nice camera bag.
Why is this gear so important to me? They are the tools I use to create. They allow me to share beauty with the world through my videos and photography.
Why do I need your support? Insurance is not helping me out at all with this claim. I'm even paying out of pocket to get a new car window. This gear is how I've been able to make a little money here and there with photoshoots and print sales. COVID has impacted my finances in a negative way, and I wish it was as easy as buying all new camera gear all by myself. But the truth is, I can't.
These are hard times for many and I have zero expectations of anyone donating, but if you feel called to do so, please know that I am extremely grateful to you. The money will go towards replacing things that aren't just items for me, but tools used to express my creativity. The gear I end up replacing will be insured this time around and I have no intention to ever leave it in my car again. This was the first time I decided to do that, and I'm suffering the consequences because of it.
