My name is Katja Rieckermann. I am a saxophone player originally from Germany, living in LA since 1997. I toured with Sir Rod Stewart for 14 years and have performed with many other big name artists like Lady Gaga, Nile Rogers, David Foster, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Mary J Blige, Jeff Goldblum, Joe Bonamassa, Arturo Sandoval, Wang Chung, Diego Verdaguer, Amanda Miguel, Saga, Brooks and Dunn, just to name a few. Over the years, I have written my own music, released three studio albums, and multiple singles.
My writing partner, Bernhard Penzias, is originally from Vienna, Austria, and moved to the US in 1996. He is an award-winning composer, musician, producer, and engineer with multiple gold and platinum records to his credit. Bernhard has produced music for major record companies as well as small independent labels.
We met in January 2025 and decided to work on music together. From our very first writing session, we both immediately felt a strong musical connection. The ideas kept flowing, bouncing back and forth, and our different musical backgrounds led to an eclectic and interesting sound that doesn’t adhere to preconceived norms. We both feel very strongly about this project. The use of unconventional instruments and influences from all kinds of genres has helped us create a truly unique sound. We have now written enough material to make an album, and this is where YOU come in!
Since we want to use real musicians and top recording studios, we need your support to make this happen. The funds raised will go directly toward studio time, hiring talented studio musicians, mixing, mastering, and creating promotional materials like photos and videos once the record is finished.
