Our family is facing a challenging time, and we’re reaching out for help to keep our home. Kat recently had to take a week off work for gallbladder surgery, but unfortunately, she didn’t have any paid time off available. On top of that, Kat has several ongoing health conditions and will need at least one, possibly two, more surgeries in the coming months—including a procedure to correct the bowing of her left eye and cataract removal as well as retinal detachment in her left eye. The retina detachment has urgently moved up her surgery to any day.
Alfie, who helps care for Kat, also doesn’t have paid time off and will need to take additional time away from work to support her recovery. Kat’s limited vision has also created more challenges and need for support in daily living. 
The funds raised will go directly toward paying our rent and utilities, helping us cover the lost income from a week off and future time off. Funds will also help with support for daily living expenses.
We’ve already used up all available paid time off, state disability, and any other resources for rent assistance. We are also struggling to keep our vehicle in working order—basic upkeep like oil changes, new brakes, and paying for our tags. These are needed so Kat can get to her necessary medical appointments.
