Help Kat Acquire Her Masters Degree in Accounting

My name is Katlego “Kat” Mkalipi and I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. In May 2025, I graduated Cum Laude from UNC Charlotte with Bachelor's degrees in both accounting and finance, making the Dean's List and Chancellor's List every semester. Now I have been accepted into UNCC's Master's degree program in Accounting! I am very excited about this next step in my journey to becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Since I was a young girl in South Africa, I have been on a journey of growth and perseverance. I was awarded full scholarships throughout my high school and undergraduate studies, but unfortunately no longer qualify for these as a graduate student. 

Throughout my academic path, I’ve served as a peer tutor, helping fellow students succeed. This experience has not only sharpened my skills but also solidified my passion for mentorship and service-- which are two qualities I am passionate about. I hope to use my career to support underserved communities and mentor future students, just as others have guided me.

Unfortunately, securing scholarship funding has become increasingly difficult for international students in the United States. This GoFundMe is to help cover the cost of tuition, books, CPA exam fees, and living expenses while I pursue this rigorous program full-time.
