A message from Kassie:
On Thursday evening, our home caught fire while none of us were there. We are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe, but the damage from the fire, smoke, and water has made our house unlivable. We were told it will be about six-eight weeks before we can return home.
This has been an overwhelming and emotional experience for our family. We tragically lost one of our cats in the fire, and many of our belongings including clothing, bedding, shoes, and everyday essentials, were damaged or destroyed.
We are currently staying in a hotel, and are working on replacing necessities for ourselves and our three kids. One of them is impacted by autism and depends heavily on routines and familiar spaces, so this sudden displacement has been especially challenging for him and for us as a family.
Right now we are facing unexpected expenses for essentials such as:
Clothing and shoes
Toiletries and daily hygiene items
Bedding and blankets
Food and supplies for our family
Additional items needed while staying out of our home
Any support — whether through donations, sharing this page, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts — means more than we can express.
Thank you for helping us get through this difficult time and move toward getting our home and stability back.
With gratitude,
Kassie & Family
