Hey, I’m Kass (She/Her) Transfem ♥ and as of the day this campaign goes live, I just turned 29! My birthday is August 28, so yes, I am absolutely using this new chapter of my life to chase one of my biggest dreams. I am raising funds to professionally self-publish Book One of my debut fantasy series, Chaosbound.

This book has been more than just a story to me. It has been years of worldbuilding, character work, late-night writing sessions, rewriting, doubting myself, pushing through, and coming back to the page anyway. Chaosbound is the kind of fantasy story I have always wanted to create: magical, emotional, dramatic, character-driven, queer, messy, powerful, and full of the kind of lore that makes you want to keep digging.

As an independent author, I want to give this book the professional release it deserves while still keeping creative control over the story, the cover direction, the publishing timeline, and the way this world is introduced to readers. That control matters to me because this story is personal. I want it to reach people without having to compromise the vision that made me fall in love with it in the first place.

The funds from this campaign will go toward the major costs of publishing Chaosbound professionally, including:

Professional editing

Final proofreading

Print and eBook formatting

ISBNs

Cover wrap preparation for both the official hardback and paperback editions

Proof copies

ARC/review copies

Launch marketing

Distribution setup for wide release

My goal is to make Chaosbound available through as many avenues as possible, including Amazon, Kindle, Barnes & Noble online, bookstore-orderable print channels, libraries, and wide eBook platforms.

There will also be two separate pieces of book art: one for the official hardback edition and one for the paperback edition. Both are already underway with two different artists, and I want to make sure the final published editions are polished, professional, and worthy of the world I’ve spent so much time building.

Self-publishing gives me the chance to bring this book to life on my own terms, but doing it properly comes with real costs. Every donation helps move this project closer to publication, whether it goes toward editing, formatting, ISBNs, proof copies, or the final launch.

Even if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign would mean so much. Every share helps this book find people who might believe in it too.

Thank you for supporting me, my work, and this dream. I am so excited to bring Chaosbound into the world.
