Help Our Sweet Pitcher Recover After Devastating Injury

Our fantastic teammate Kason took a line drive hit to the eye at our spring opening game on April 4th while pitching. A day now, none of the members of our baseball family will forget. In a split second, everything changed.

Kason is a leader; he is full of kindness and an incredible athlete. His smile will light up any ballpark! He is the kind of kid who is always cheering on his teammates, the heart of the team really! Both on and off the field, parents and players love him!

He was rushed to Ogden Regional, where they Life Flighted him to Primary Children’s. At Primary’s, he underwent reconstructive surgery to repair the damage to his eye socket and all the tissue around it. He was diagnosed with a mild TBI, as well as a Commotio Retinae, Choroidal Rupture, and Vitreous Hemorrhage in his right eye. The road ahead will be long. There will be lots of follow-up visits, possible surgeries in the future, and time away from the sport he loves, with the strong possibility that he will never regain the abilities that he had before or if his eyesight will recover.

Kason is a Candy Crush 12u baseball team member based out of Layton, Utah. Every boy on that team has worked hard to prepare to play at Cooperstown Allstar Village this summer. Kason is still planning on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure with his team and family. We aren’t sure what that looks like for him now, but all his baseball family wants him there, whether he is on the field or supported in the dugout.

Kason has shown an incredible attitude. He is brave, positive, and strong beyond his years. His resilience is nothing short of inspiring.

We are raising funds to help cover the mounting medical expenses, travel costs for the family, time off work for his parents, and any ongoing care he will need. Some of the funds raised will also go toward helping make that memorable trip to Cooperstown, to be surrounded by his teammates who love him and are cheering him on every step of the way. Every dollar, every share, and every prayer mean the world, and we, along with him and his family, express our sincere gratitude.
