Hello, My name is Kasey. I'm a 36 year old mechanic who's hit a bit of a rough patch.

I'm attempting to raise funds to buy a beater car so I can get back to work and dig myself out of this hole.

I have a tough time asking for help, and am doing this because a few of my friends told me I should.

So a bit about me/my story

I've been through a lot in the last fifteen years. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013, I took care of her and drained my savings to keep her in her home. She passed in 2014. I became homeless after she passed but was taken in by a friend in Pennsylvania where I still live today.

As a lot of people are in these times, I've been living day to day just barely making it. Until about 6 months ago, my 26 year old Subaru which I've had since 2011, and has 250,000 miles was reliable. It has developed some serious rust and electrical issues now that keep it from passing Pennsylvania state inspection and I had to take it off the road.

The area where I live has absolutely zero public transportation and no place near me has any openings. I live in the mountains, and would prefer to get a small truck/SUV/AWD car or something for the snow, but I am not going to be picky. I'll take anything I can get that will pass inspection and isn't going to fall apart in a year. I don't need a fancy car.

I appreciate any and all donations/shares/words of encouragement. My end goal is $3,500 - $4,000 to cover whatever percentage GFM takes, a used car, any basic/small repairs it may need like a tune up or brakes, etc. Title transfer, taxes and the first couple months of insurance. The used car market is so trash today. A fifteen hundred dollar car is now a four thousand dollar car.

Literally anything helps. Even if I don't make my goal, I'll save whatever I get into a savings account and will put it towards a vehicle when I'm able to find one in budget.
