Hi, my name is Kasandra. I’m 24, a trans woman, and I’ve been doing my best to live independently since I turned 18. I don’t have an accepting family nor do they live in the United States, and many of my distant relatives are no contact or can’t help.

I’m autistic and have severe ADHD and OCD, and due to the last couple of years, I’ve felt debilitated by lack of medical insurance, trauma from physical and emotional abuse both in and post-childhood, sexual assault, and most recently, losing my job due to my inability to work without quickly becoming overstimulated and melting down. I was terminated from my job for being sick too long and don't qualify for unemployment.

My health has declined, I live with constant headaches, my eyes developed chalazions that only get worse, and without insurance I’ve had no way of treating them. I’ve battled depression and anxiety all my life and masked for so long, I’ve completely burnt out, and continue to fight against hunger, constant s*icidal thoughts and being on the brink of homelessness.

With no money for laundry, toilet paper, all my supplies are running low, and despite always struggling to take care of myself, now I couldn’t even if I wanted to.

I recently got in touch with the San Diego LGBT Center, where I hope to apply for disability and find more resources to assist me, however, with rent being due on April 5th, I’m at risk of eviction now, I have no food, and nowhere to go.

I’m asking for any donations and help now in hopes of finding medical assistance, staying on my HRT, keeping my room (which rents for $880+$35 for utilities) and food. So far, my friends have helped me stay afloat, but things have gotten more dire and I need help.

With luck, I hope to find therapy and mental health resources as well. I’m truthfully very scared and numb right now but doing my best to keep my head up for myself and my loved ones. I’m really sorry. Thank you.
