My name is Karyn, and I’ve been given an unexpected opportunity to pursue my MFA in Professional Acting at Drama Studio London. I never imagined applying to a school in London, but when Drama Studio London reached out and offered me a place, I knew I couldn’t say no. This program is a chance for me to finally focus on acting again, something I haven’t truly done in two decades. Since leaving the conservatory at Foothill, I’ve struggled to find the confidence and support I needed. My time at UCI didn’t give me the guidance or experience I hoped for, and I’ve always dreamed of working in the UK. Now, I have the chance to make that dream a reality.

I’m raising funds to help cover the costs of my visa, travel, moving, and living expenses as I prepare to start this new chapter. The program begins in just over three months, and I need to apply for my visa within the next couple of weeks and book my flight soon after. This journey is about more than just academics—it’s about reclaiming my confidence, building lifelong friendships, and finally giving my passion for acting the attention it deserves. I’m not getting any younger, and I don’t want to wait any longer to pursue what truly makes me happy.

Throughout my education, my mom has been my biggest supporter, helping me through every step—from junior college to massage school, UCI, life coaching, and accounting. I’m incredibly grateful for everything she’s done for me, and I want to make her proud and give her peace of mind.
