Help Karmina Raise Awareness for Asians
Hi everyone,
This GoFundMe page is dedicated to supporting the Asian community in Vancouver, BC.
Recently, there are numerous reports of anti-Asian attacks and vandalism around the world. In Vancouver alone, we saw a 717% increase in hate-related incidents against Asian people in the months following the start of COVID-19 (source: CTV News).
What’s more saddening is the fact that many of these victims are the vulnerable elderly. We wanted to find a way to help our community by running a social media awareness campaign in Vancouver.
To kickstart this campaign, we need more people to talk about this issue and to raise awareness about anti-Asian racism is happening in our home. Every helpful resource out there is telling people to donate to charity, to educate themselves, and to volunteer at their local Chinatown community.
But let’s take a step back.
As Asians, we were taught not to cause problems, not take up space, and be respectful. But now is not the time to be the fly on the wall. We need our Vancouver community to come together and spread the message beyond just the Asian community.
We created social media posts that are shareable among the online community to help raise awareness of this issue. We're asking for help from our family, friends, peers, and local Vancouverites to raise advertising dollars to launch our awareness campaign.
With your funding, Karmina will be running a paid social media campaign to inform and drive traffic to a list of resources and charities to help others get started.
Your $5-$10 dollars will go a long way!
Thank you for your support and time.
