Hi, my name is Danna and I’m starting this fundraiser for my partner. He’s a black 20 year old transgender lesbian from Canada.

As you might know, he dealt with neglect and abuse by the hands of his mother for years on end. Recently, he was able to escape. However, this hasn’t been easy as his mother had snatched his 4 year old cat away as a way of having my partner coming back to that house.

One random day she became tired, tried calling him and without a response, she sent an email to him telling him she would re-home his cat which is what he tried to do in the first place, resulting in her kidnapping his cat.

My partner is now reunited with his cat, but the place in which they’re living in is infested with mice and still very close his mother’s house, not an ideal place for them to live. Getting into Ontario Works (OW) has been a great help for him to get by, but not enough when he’s the sole provider for himself and his cat.

As you can imagine, he has been struggling with his mental and physical health, recently experiencing terrible chronic pain flair ups. He also is anemic, which granted him getting two blood transfusions that were vital for him. With minimum help, this has strained him significantly especially with his undiagnosed disabilities (chronic pain and autism).

We are seeking to fund the following:

* Food and other essentials

* Enough to cover for daily life transportation such as bus tickets

* A new phone

* Rent
