Help Karly Wolff back on her feet

Hi. My name is Georgia VanNewkirk and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend and roommate, Karly Wolff.

In July, Karly was involved in a serious motorcycle accident where, upon being thrown off the back of the bike, she was immediately taken to the hospital in an ambulance. As you can imagine, the damage was severe: her foot was degloved and she suffered 8 broken bones in her foot. Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctors couldn't assure her for hours she would keep her foot. Luckily, they were able to operate on karlys foot- she received 3 pins to reset the bones and about 20 stitches.

Karly has been on crutches and unable to walk for the past three months while she has tried to recover, rendering her unable to work as a full-time server. This loss of income has been incredibly difficult, especially in conjunction with the mental and physical repercussions of the accident and the grueling recovery process.

We were initially given an 8-12 week timeline of when Karly would be able to begin to walk without crutches and resume work, but, unfortunately the wound has not healed the way that the doctors had hoped, and so we have been informed that she will be undergoing another surgery to get a skin graft and close the wound which unfortunately elongates Karlys healing process. While It's unclear right now how much longer karly has until she is fully walking again, this ultimately is good news and hopefully is the last hurdle towards the end of her recovery.

Karly is an incredibly hardworking and independent individual who never hesitates to help others in their time of need. She is a bright and shining light to those around her and now it's our turn to offer a helping hand. We've faired for the past three months, but as Karly gears up for the long-term implications of this injury, financial stressors have set in and I've started this GoFundMe campaign to rally support for her during her time of need.

Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping Karly cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and essential bills during her recovery period. Karly was an indelible piece of the community in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Los Angeles less than a year ago to pursue different dreams. She is the best person I have ever known and has changed my life with her friendship. The ease of this financial burden will allow the peace of mind needed to focus on their healing.
