Hi, my name is Steven, and I’m raising funds for my wife, Karla.
Before you even read any further, I just want you to know—writing this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life. What has happened to our family is something I can only describe as a tragedy… just sheer sadness. I honestly don’t know how else to describe it.
Karla is 39 years old, a mother to our two kids, Kalli (15) and Karson (18), and the heart of our family.
Recently, our lives have been completely turned upside down when, out of nowhere, Karla was diagnosed with leukemia.
Since then, everything has changed. Our focus is now on treatments, appointments, and doing whatever it takes to get her through this. She is strong, but this is a battle no one can face alone.
There have been a lot of tears over these past months. Karla and I have always been 80/20 with everything—when I’m at 80%, I pull her up, and when I’m down, she pulls me up. One of us is always the strong arm for the other, and that’s how our relationship has always been.
Karla and I have been friends since we were 15 years old. We got together after high school, had our first child at 21, and two years later had our second. This November, we’ll have been together almost 20 years and married for 10. I could write a book on all the ups and downs we’ve been through—but this is truly one of the darkest times we’ve ever faced.
Because of her condition, Karla is unable to work, and our family is now trying to manage on a single income while dealing with medical expenses and everyday bills.
We are asking for help to:
• Cover medical treatments and related expenses
• Help replace lost income
• Keep our home stable during this difficult time
• Allow Karla to focus fully on healing
If you know Karla, you know her heart. If you don’t, please know this—she is someone who truly deserves a fighting chance.
She’s my best friend and my soulmate. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. This couldn’t have happened to a less deserving person.
Karla is the sweetest person I know—to everyone and everything she comes across. She loves nature, especially sea life like manatees and dolphins. She’s a patriot who loves her country, and an incredible mother to our kids. Just an all-around beautiful soul.
Writing this right now, my eyes are watering and my heart hurts. I truly can’t believe this is happening to us. We’re just your average American family trying to get through something we never saw coming.
I never ask anyone for anything, but this is truly my first time ever asking for help.
We are staying strong and we are not giving up—but we can’t do this alone.
Every donation, share, and prayer means more than we can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
