Support my Brother Karl Kacel flood victim
Donation protected
Hi there I am Karen McKenna from Macomb Mi I am raising funds for Karl Kacel, my Brother, who lives on Sanford lake. On May 19, 2020 after2 days of rain fell the Edenville dam gave way pouring massive amounts of water into Sanford lake. Lake levels rose so high that it flooded his home filling his basement and leaving up to a foot of water and mud on the first floor causing serious damage. Mud and water damage has devastated most of his personal belongings as well as furniture and appliances. His sheds and boats were scattered in the neighborhood. His well exploded and he will need a new well. His deck was lifted up to two feet.
His area did not qualify for flood insurance. With just the clean up estimates ranging from 25,0000 to 40,000 dollars . The extent of structural damage has not been determined. It could take days or weeks to find how much damage the flood actually caused.
Karl Kacel is physically and emotionally overwhelmed. On the same day of the flood his 94 year old Mother was put on hospice as her body became very weak and frail. The family would appreciate any and all prayers.

They have started clean up efforts. All water has been removed. All carpeting has been removed. It will be a lot of hard work removing damaged property and assessing all damage.
Big thank you to all who are helping with the clean up. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for any amount you can donate. If you can't make a donation at this time please share this with your friends.
All funds collected will be accessible to Karl Kacel by me and will be used for cleaning the mud out of the house after the flood, repairing damage to the home and deck as well as repairing or replacing a severely damaged well. Funds will also be used to replace furniture and appliances, such as a washer, dryer, furnace and hot water heater if they are determined they need to be replaced. Funds will also be used to replace carpeting and flooring if deemed necessary. If the foundation is compromised the funds will help to repair it. The extent of the loss is still being determined and I will update on where funds will be used.
