Help Karl (Ralph) & His Family Through His Cancer Battle

Our Karl – or Ralph as a lot of you will know him by and his family have been rocked by the diagnosis of his stage 4 cancer in late October. What began as a sore shoulder has turned into an absolute twist in plots. The small cell cancer has been found in his lungs, liver, prostate and bone. Additional scans since the diagnosis keep finding more bone areas affected. His Oncologists are stumped as to how it has developed so quickly and in various parts of the body considering his age and the fact he was checked only 12 months ago! Chemotherapy and radiation treatment is well under way, and the future completely up in the air.

Karl and Lisa are doing it tough both emotionally and financially. This is where we need to step up as friends and family! As you can appreciate in a time like this where Karl has been put off work so rapidly, the financial pressure is building daily with no end in sight. Karl has limited leave from work, when this ends they will be relying on one salary for all expenses and the completion of renovations to the family home. We want to help alleviate the financial stress to ensure Karl and his family are only focused on his health, spending as much time together as possible, making memories!

We wish the money to go towards the completion of renovations to the family home which have been left incomplete due to the ripple effect of lockdowns and his stroke. Already having to extend the permits multiple times, this alone has used up a massive chunk of what they had left to complete the renovations. With a deadline of April this time around, we are pushing to try and get things underway to avoid another extension and take the stress away from Karl & Lisa. Any funds remaining to go towards the running costs of the house.

Karl, as you will know is one of the toughest Aussie battlers going round. He has been through more hardships than most, even defying the odds two years ago bouncing back from his stroke. He’s the type of friend to always lend a hand whenever he is needed with no strings attached.

This news has stopped us in our tracks, we hope to provide some relief for his family in such a stressful time. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
