We are sending out a call to raise funds for a life-changing spine surgery for Karl in Germany.
Karl Nardi was injured at work in 2015. That single accident has left him battling severe, chronic pain in his back, neck, and hips for over a decade. What began as a workplace injury has progressively upended his life — turning everyday activities into a constant struggle and robbing him of the active, independent life he once had. Karl suffers from ongoing degenerative disc issues in both his lumbar and cervical spine.
After struggling with Canada’s healthcare system for years and realizing they could not offer a lasting solution for Karl’s injury- only pain management and physiotherapy- which do not address the underlying damage.
After consulting with German medical specialists, it’s been confirmed that the only real path to meaningful recovery is advanced surgery: a laparoscopic discectomy in the lumbar region combined with a complete disc replacement in the cervical region. These motion-preserving procedures are not available through the Canadian health system.
The best option in the world is renowned ONZ Orthopedic-Neurosurgical Center in Germany. They are a leading facility specializing in exactly these cutting-edge, minimally invasive spine techniques. ONZ has an outstanding track record helping international patients, including many Canadians, achieve lasting pain relief and restored mobility.
The cost for the surgery is just over $60,000 CAD- not including airfare. Karl’s surgery is scheduled for April 29, 2026.
Karl has struggled with these conditions for 11 years, and he cannot overcome this alone. Every donation — no matter the size — will go towards helping the family fund the surgery. Your support will give Karl the chance to finally live without constant pain and reclaim the life he has been missing for far too long.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring about Karl. Your prayers and support mean so much.
With sincere gratitude,
