Our dear friend and founder of the Siamese & Oriental Forum, Karin Anavoriam, is facing an incredibly difficult moment with her beloved cats, Asia and Mulan.
Both Asia and Mulan are facing several unexpected medical challenges and, in addition, both girls are scheduled for emergency surgeries on 9-17-25. Mulan will be undergoing surgery to remove a medium size mass on her lower chest region, which will then be sent out to histology/pathology to determine if it is cancer, what type of cancer or if it is not cancerous.
My hopes are that Karin will not be facing more serious news than she is already dealing with. Asia requires critical dental surgery of her primary fang, that is infected and receding from the gumline to prevent spreading of infection (which can rapidly spread to the brain, heart and other vital organs), restore her health, and safety to Mulan as the fang has injured her during playtime. These sudden medical needs are necessary, but as you can imagine, they have brought with them not only emotional strain but also an unexpected financial burden for Karin.
Karin has always given so much to others in need, also to the Siamese & Oriental Forum community through her time, love, and dedication. She is the one that is always there with a lending hand. So many of us have been cared for and supported by her and also
helped through the forum. Now, I feel this is a chance for us to come together and give back. I am organizing this fundraiser to support Karin, Asia, and Mulan and will be coming up with ways to not only to help in this moment, but also with the hope that it might serve as a model in the future for how we, as community, can support one another when life brings unexpected hardships. My hope is that we can create something lasting that could support others in our forum family in critical times.
If you are able, please consider donating to help cover the costs of Asia and Mulan’s surgeries and recovery. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Just as importantly, your kindness, encouragement, and prayers mean the world to Karin during this stressful time.
She really needs our help. Let’s come together as a community and family to support Karin and her precious girls in their time of need. This is a moment where we can truly embody our caring spirit and make a difference together.
With gratitude,
Jeanine Dagher
