With great sadness on Wednesday, June 16th, I awoke to the tragic news that my best friend and coworker Karim’s apartment was set ablaze earlier that morning destroying all of his personal belongings. While thankfully Karim did not sustain any injuries in the fire, Karim will have to navigate grief, trauma, and a lot of unknowns as he tries to rebuild his life. Just as Karin has been a vital support to myself and so many others, he is need of ours to offset the additional extraordinary financial burden that this tragedy has caused. Any funds donated will go directly to replacing some of Karim’s basic necessities as he relocates including food, clothing, and furniture.
