Hello Everyone,

My name is Karigan Wann, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Music-Vocal Performance at California State University, Fresno. I will be graduating in May 2025.

From a young age, I have been passionate about singing, a love that was ignited when I first experienced music through my CD player as a child. I used music and singing as a way to find a safe space within the chaos of my life at the time.

My enthusiasm for classical singing blossomed during community college, and I have been committed to this art form ever since. I firmly believe in the transformative power of music and its ability to impact our world.

I am excited to share that I have auditioned for the Dramatic Voices Program in Berlin and am honored to have been cast in the role of Brighella (gender-swapped) in the main cast of Strauss's "Ariadne auf Naxos." I will have the opportunity to perform at least once with an orchestra in Berlin, Germany, and may be called upon for additional performances as needed. The production will be directed by Richard Gammon and conducted by Prof. Byron Knutson.

Furthermore, I have been accepted into the Lieder Akademie & Festival, where I will collaborate in a Lieder duo. This program will culminate in concert performances during the Dramatic Voices Program Lieder Festival. Additionally, I have been offered the opportunity to cover the role of Naiad in the same production.

The Dramatic Voices Program in Berlin provides an immersive environment for artists, allowing us to engage deeply with the score and character while collaborating with world-class faculty and observing rehearsals. This program focuses on the development of the dramatic voice, preparing participants for the competitive landscape of classical music through intensive training and exceptional performance opportunities.

I am truly honored to receive such a career-enhancing opportunity and feel both blessed and inspired to embark on this new chapter in my career. However, I am facing financial challenges in funding my participation in this program and in my personal life.

The total tuition for the program is $3,000, and I need to submit $895 within 10 days of my acceptance, which I received on February 11, 2025.

TUITION The tuition cost for a featured role in the 2025 program is €3500. A 25% deposit of the tuition’s total (€875) is required in order to confirm your place in the program, and is due no later than 10 days after receipt of this email (by February 21, 2025). Payment details can be found below. Please note that the tuition deposit is non-refundable, should you choose to withdraw. Your 25% deposit will go towards your tuition total. Please note that your spot is reserved until the above date but not confirmed until tuition deposit is received. After the above date, we will move on to our waiting list. 50% of tuition is due by March 15, 2025. Full tuition is due by May 15, 2025. To assist with my journey to Berlin, I have created a GoFundMe page. The funds will be allocated towards tuition, travel, and other necessary expenses.
