Hi, I am Kari’s daughter, Morgan, and I am here to ask for help from the community, friends and family. My mom, her students and their families have lost everything to Lahaina’s devastating wildfire.

My mom was a very dedicated Speech Therapist at King Kamehameha III elementary school in downtown Lahaina. She’s built several amazing relationships with her kids and their families who have lost their houses, cars, personal belongings, looking for missing family members, and their entire school to the fire. Including my mom who lost her car, living space, and all of her belongings as well. She also spent her summer driving around Lahaina to several families to provide private practice services. These relationships have greatly impacted my mom’s life as living in Lahaina has been one of her favorite decisions in life. My mom’s dedication to helping her community, her new ohana, has continued by wanting to help her students and their families during this catastrophic time. Lahaina school systems have shut down for the year, these families and students are being asked to relocate to find alternate education.

My mom is one of the most beautiful souls with such extreme generosity and moving to Maui has greatly impacted her life. The money we raise will go to help replace my mom’s transportation and by her request the rest going to support her students and their families. It has been extremely difficult for the people on Maui to receive resources and financial support is coming in slowly. Join us to do our best to help the wonderful Kama’ai’na (locals) of Lahaina get back onto their feet.
