Help Karessa in Rebuilding After Life-Altering Traumas

Hello, my name is Karessa Lang, and I’m reaching out with a humbled heart, asking for your help as I work to rebuild my life following two devastating events that have shaken my world.
On January 9, 2024, I experienced a terrifying armed robbery at my workplace. Three individuals entered the store, and one confronted me with a raised weapon. This life-threatening ordeal left me with severe PTSD, anxiety, depression, and isolation. Since February 17, 2024, I’ve been unable to work while focusing on recovery and therapy. Each day, I face the profound emotional impact of this trauma.
Financially, it’s been an uphill battle. Workers’ Compensation provided partial income for a time, but payments stopped over 11 weeks ago. I’ve depleted my emergency fund and nearly all of my 401(k) savings to stay afloat.
As if that wasn’t enough, on October 27, 2024, I was in a devastating 7-car pileup on I-30 while returning to Dallas after a family funeral in Kansas City, MO. My car was struck multiple times, spinning out before flipping onto its side and stopping in the wrong direction.
I vividly remember hearing people outside my car asking, “Is she dead?” By the grace of God, I survived. A military service member and a kind civilian helped me crawl out through the sunroof before EMS rushed me to the hospital. I sustained severe injuries to my neck, back, and ankle, along with extensive bruising and soreness. While I’m deeply grateful to be alive, the physical and emotional aftermath has been overwhelming.
These back-to-back tragedies have left me physically, emotionally, and financially exhausted. I am determined to heal, but I can’t do it alone.
Your generosity—no matter the amount—will help cover:
• Medical expenses and ongoing treatment
• Basic living costs like rent, utilities, and groceries
• Therapy for PTSD, anxiety, and depression
• Transportation as I recover
If you aren’t able to donate, I would be deeply grateful if you could share my story and keep me in your prayers. Your support and kindness mean more than words can express during this challenging time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With love and gratitude,
Karessa
