Help Karen with her recovery from a stroke

Hi my name is Kelly Balmer  and I'm  reaching out to all of my sister  Karen  McConnell's family,  friends and  co-workers at New Castle  County  Vo-Tech District  and Delaware  Technical  Community  College.  As many of you know,  on February  16, 2021, Karen suffered a devastating stroke.  The stroke  has affected the use of the left side of her body and has left Karen  struggling both  physically and emotionally.  Karen  has no use of her left arm and a simple task like walking that we far too often take for  granted,  has become a  chore.  Thankfully  Karen's able to walk, but not  without a  cane.  I know my  sister's a fighter and she's  working  hard to overcome her disabilities  with physical,  occupational  and speech  therapy  three days  a week  as well  as  hours of exhausted  exercising  at home  on a daily basis. God's  blessed Karen  with a  prognosis  that's  encouraging,  but we have  months of  therapy  ahead.

As previously  stated,  Karen  has months of  hard  work  ahead before  she's  able to even think about  returning to to  the job's  she loves.  The sad part about  a stroke,  like  Karen  suffered,  is the toll it takes emotionally,  physically  and  financially.  In order to  help  Karen,  and relieve some of the  financial  stress  due to  things  not  covered by  insurance  and out of  pocket  expenses  such as  co-pays, medicine, doctors,  she also  needs to  make  some  changes  in the  house  to  ensure  safety and  mobility. 

I'm  hoping that  Karen's family, friends and co-workers will  rally around her and support her in this time of need. In addition to  any financial assistance  we would  greatly  appreciate  if you could  remember  Karen  and her  family  in your prayers.  Thank you.
