Help Karen Fight her Battle with Cancer

My Mom, Karen Gainer was recently diagnosed with rectal cancer and she is getting ready do go through a very aggressive treatment of Chemo and Radiation therapy. She will be going through a major surgery on 8/16 to have a diverting colostomy done and then will start treatment about 2 weeks after that. She will get radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks and chemo 4 days a week about every other week to start.

My Mom lives on a very fixed income on SSI and does not have any additional funds to cover all of the costs of her care. Between the medical equipment and supplies that we need weekly which are not covered by Medicare and then prescriptions copays and procedure copays the cost is getting to be too much even with us helping with expenses. It shocks me how little Medicare actually covers.

Any of you that know me knows that I HATE asking for help but my Mom needs it right now and we are so appreciative of anything you would be willing to give.
