A Humble Birthday Wish: Help Me Through This Chapter
My birthday is February 26, and this year I’m making a very different kind of wish — the courage to ask for help. In this past season of grief and recovery, I have done everything I can to remain financially stable. With the kindness of friends and family I was able to take out small loans, but I’ve now reached a point where I’m struggling to cover my most basic needs: rent and groceries, and I’m unable to repay those loans as quickly as I had hoped.
It is deeply humbling for me to share this. For a long time I tried to manage on my own, but I’m learning that allowing others to support me is also a form of strength. This is a temporary moment, not my destination. I am actively seeking employment and continuing to move toward my long-held calling to serve as a Grief Specialist, offering care and support to others who are suffering. The help I receive now will be carried forward into that work — this is part of the circle of compassion that I have dedicated my life to.
If you are able to contribute, any amount will make a real and immediate difference in helping me stay housed and nourished during this time. If you’re not in a position to give, your prayers, kind words, and sharing this page are also a true gift. Thank you for walking with me, especially now. With love and gratitude, Karen
