On Friday morning at 4:45 am, despite the weather conditions, my dear friend Karen left to open Mama Penn's in Anderson, SC. Hurricane Helene was already in full effect. Wind gusts were 70 mph, trees were all over, power lines were down, but nothing has ever stopped Karen from getting to work. She has faithfully opened the restaurant and served her customers for over 20 years.
Not long after being at work, the power went out, so she went home. When she arrived, her home was completely demolished.
Going to work is what saved her life.
After looking at the pictures, I’m not sure she would be here today if she had stayed home, BUT God had other plans for her. I’m so thankful for His faithfulness! God is so good!
The only thing she has on her currently are her work clothes, and because of the house being off the foundation, it is too unstable to go inside and see what, if anything, is salvageable. She is going to need temporary housing, clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc.
I know that so many have been impacted by this storm and everyone is having a difficult time right now, but I am begging if you have anything to give, $1, $5, $10, anything will help!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any and all donations. We appreciate you all.
