Emergency Help for Aunt Karen’s Recovery in Thailand
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and an urgent need for help.
On the very first day of our trip to Thailand, my beloved Aunt Karen suffered a devastating fall down a flight of stairs. She broke her femur bone and had to undergo emergency surgery immediately.

Cash-Only Medical System – Immediate Financial Strain
In Thailand, hospitals operate on a cash-upfront basis, and we were hit with unexpected and overwhelming medical bills. We had to pay for:
• The surgery and hospital stay
• A private hospital room for her recovery
• Post-operative medications and supplies
• A follow-up appointment with the surgeon for clearance to fly
• A wheelchair-accessible return flight (still pending)
• Medical essentials including a wheelchair and toilet
Karen can’t stand or walk right now, and we’re providing 24/7 care as she recovers in a hotel in Bangkok.
⸻
We’ve Already Spent or Borrowed Close to $20,000
To cover these immediate needs, we had to borrow heavily from her brother, and now we are urgently seeking support to:
• Pay him back as soon as possible
• Continue covering her recovery and transportation costs
⸻
We never imagined our trip would turn into a medical crisis, but we’re doing everything we can to help Karen heal and get home safely. Your generosity, whether big or small, will make a real difference.

How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate, we would be forever grateful. And if you can’t donate at this time, please consider sharing this page with others who may be able to help.
Every contribution helps us get one step closer to bringing Karen home.
From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
With deep gratitude,
Karen Gabaldon and family ❤️
