My name is Brandy Wright, and these two beautiful women are some of the most supportive and important people in my life. My mom, Dorothy, is on the left and my mother-in-love, Karen, is on the right. I chose this photo for my campaign because I just love it, and I love that they can be friends.

 

Karen is currently fighting triple negative breast cancer, which is an aggressive form of breast cancer. She beat HER2 type breast cancer 19 plus years ago, and we have faith she will kick cancer’s butt again! Thank God we caught this very early!

 

She has had one surgery already (lumpectomy) and they found microscopic cancer cells in the margins, so she has made the difficult decision to have a complete mastectomy next year.

 

She is currently going through chemo treatments, with her last one scheduled for next year. Chemo treatments are $599 each treatment and she has to do four treatments. She also has recurring doctor bills, medications, and hospital bills from the first surgery. We don’t have any idea how much the removal and reconstruction will cost next year.

 

She has applied to multiple assistance programs, but they have all spent their 2021 funds already and are unable to help. (Me Squared did send send her the nicest comfort package though.)

 

She only wanted me to ask for $2,000 for her chemo since the oncologist’s billing department keeps calling her about the bill and it upsets her every time. (They called two days before her first chemo and told her she needed to bring $599 to the appointment!). I hope she gets more, because I don’t want to see her paying off big doctor bills on a fixed income for years to come.
