A Miracle for Karen – Double Lung Transplant After a Lifelong Battle with Cystic Fibrosis

Our family has witnessed a true miracle.

Karen was born with cystic fibrosis, a lifelong illness that has challenged her every single day. Since 2019, she has depended on oxygen. She has endured countless medications, blood transfusions, and procedures.Despite it all, she remained strong for her family.

Two weeks ago, Karen was officially placed on the transplant list for new lungs. Because of her medical condition, she was only eligible to receive lungs from 25% of donors — making the wait even more uncertain.

Then on Friday, she received the call we had been praying for.

Karen received her double lung transplant.

We are beyond grateful to God, to her donor, and to the incredible team who made this possible. This is the gift of life.

Karen is a devoted mom to her two beautiful children, Ryan and Gia. She is also a loving wife to Johnny, a dedicated PE teacher and head varsity baseball coach, who is now taking a leave of absence from work to be by her side during recovery. Karen is also a small business owner, running her own lawn sign business.

While this transplant is a miracle, the journey ahead is long. For the first year at home, will be extensive medical bills, ongoing doctor appointments, medications, and recovery expenses.

We are asking for support to help ease the financial burden so Karen can focus entirely on healing and being present for her family.
