After 22 years in banking and 15 years in Early Education, I’ve been pushed out again—not for failing children, but for standing up for my rights.
At Cadence Academy Preschool, I was targeted with false accusations in my file and damaging references meant to blackball my career.
At Goddard School, I was fired for challenging an unfair dress code policy that only applied to teachers while administrators were exempt.
This isn’t just about me. It’s about the rights of educators—Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, and every walk of life—who deserve dignity, respect, and fairness.
Let me be clear:
I thank those who recognized my excellence, like Payal Talsania, who gave me the opportunity to work at Goddard.
But I must call out Lisa Montgomery, the white director who abused her power—and others who think and act like her. They should be the ones held accountable.
I refuse to keep starting over. I refuse to be quiet. This fight is for every teacher who has been mistreated and silenced while corporate childcare centers profit at the expense of our children’s futures.
Please stand with me by donating and sharing my story.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10
Respectfully
Karen Cade
