Help Karen and Her Service Dog Survive

Hi, my name is Karen. I found out on Mother’s Day weekend that my husband had decided to move out and go with his new flavor of the month. He said that he would keep helping with bills, etc., until we got divorced. I am the one that said divorce.

He helped one time. I have been in a wheelchair since October of 2024, but on June 6, 2025, I was taken to the hospital and had to have three emergency surgeries in 48 hours. I had that flesh-eating bacteria, and I was extremely sick. My doctor said that he didn’t know if I would be able to keep my leg or my life.

I live in a very small town, and there is not much in the way of help (financial assistance) around here.

I am struggling to survive, to keep myself and my service dog fed, and she is on special food because of her allergies. My electric is going to be shut off probably before Monday, and I am going to have to vacate my house since I’m behind on rent. My dog and I will have to live in the car in this 100-degree heat. I have at least three more weeks in this wheelchair. I have applied for disability and SNAP, just waiting to hear something back.

I am praying for healing and help. If you can spare a few dollars, I will be very grateful.
