Hello, my name is Zoe, and I’m creating this fundraiser to help my Aunt Karen after the very unexpected and heartbreaking loss of my Uncle Johnny.
Uncle Johnny passed away instantly after a fall. He had made it clear that he wanted to donate his body to science. It was his final wish—to contribute to medical research and help ease the financial burden that often follows death. That’s who he was: selfless, compassionate, and always looking for ways to help others.
Anyone who knew Johnny will tell you he was an incredible human being. A true friend to everyone, and someone who would do anything to help someone in need.
Sadly, his final wish was denied because of negligence.
A judge declared him deceased over the phone, and as a result, Kaufman County left his body in the sun for over three hours. They simply walked away—leaving the family to watch over him, without even covering his body. It was a horrific and traumatic experience for all involved. Because of this delay and lack of care, his wish to donate his body to science was taken away.
Now Karen is left to face not only overwhelming grief but also serious financial hardship. Social Security will not pay his benefit for June 3rd, and due to the way things were set up, she is struggling to cover basic expenses—including cremation.
Karen has spent her life helping others. She’s worked with special needs and handicapped children for years, teaching and guiding them with love and dedication. There’s a chance that someone she’s helped is a person you know—or even someone you love.
Please, if there’s anything you can contribute, any amount helps. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world to us. Help us honor Uncle Johnny’s memory, support Karen in her time of need, and raise awareness about the serious negligence that occurred.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
