Kareem, Maram’s older brother, has always been a source of strength for his family. Just a few months ago, his life changed suddenly when he began suffering from severe headaches. What started as pain quickly escalated—he lost feeling in his arm, and within weeks, he began having seizures. After countless hospital visits and a long, uncertain wait, Kareem was diagnosed with encephalitis, a serious and life-threatening condition.

Despite the many obstacles, Kareem was able to secure a visa to leave Palestine and seek treatment in Egypt. Only his mother can travel with him, and the journey ahead is filled with uncertainty. The costs of hospitalization, ongoing treatment, and the medications Kareem needs to stay stable are overwhelming. On top of that, Kareem and his mother will need support for their living expenses while they are far from home, focused on his recovery.
