Hello, everyone! My name is Karcsi Wright and I have recently been accepted into The London School of Musical Theatre, for an intensive 1-Year course which will help me massively to build my knowledge, stamina and skills to go into the creative industry as a professional actor. LSMT is a school that offers an amazing amount of training and opportunities, but it is also a privately funded school, meaning that I have to resource £15,000 before August. Before I carry on, I want to clarify that I am working as a Fragrance Consultant full time to fund this opportunity, but I will not have enough with my current savings. I am also working very hard to find solutions for the funding, but I hope whoever comes across this can support my dream of going to one of the top drama schools to become a successful, full time working performer.
I now want to explain the history behind this passion:
I was born in Mexico City and I moved to England when I was 9 years old when my parents married, I arrived with barely any knowledge of the English Language but was fortunate to have been placed in a school with children of many different nationalities and so I integrated quickly.
When I was 10, I realised that I wanted to be an actor, I wasn’t sure which kind, but I knew I loved doing anything related to performing. I looked at nearby opportunities and found Centrestage Productions Youth Theatre (CPYT) and was welcomed with open arms. I well remember the exact day and age that I decided to pursue what is now something I want to soon call my full time job, and so I was suddenly embracing every aspect of musical theatre at thirteen years old.
I have performed in more than 20 different productions since the age of 10, so being accepted by probably the most prestigious school in Musical Theatre is an opportunity I can’t let go, and that is why I am asking for your help. I have also attached a small video on one of my latest productions. My parents are helping me as much as they can financially, but we will still have insufficient funds to make the full amount. I hope you can support me in my goal to go to drama school, and I will be hugely grateful for any support given on this GoFund Me.
