My Story: A Journey of Pain, Hope, and Resilience

My name is Karam, and I live in Gaza. For many years, my life has been a constant battle against circumstances that seem beyond my control. I am married and blessed with a loving family, but I face challenges that make every day a struggle for survival.

Several years ago, I was involved in a tragic accident that changed my life forever. I lost my leg, and since then, I have lived with the physical and emotional pain that comes with this loss. My amputation has made it impossible for me to work or support my family, and I am now completely without any source of income.

Living in Gaza is already difficult, with its ongoing conflict, shortages of basic necessities, and limited access to medical care. But living with a disability in this environment is almost unbearable. Every day, I face obstacles that most people can hardly imagine—simple tasks that require strength and mobility are now mountains I must climb.

Adding to my struggles is my father’s severe illness. He has suffered terrible fractures in his leg, causing him immense pain and limiting his mobility. With his condition worsening, he too requires urgent medical attention, but we lack the resources to provide proper care for him. Seeing my father suffer while I am unable to help breaks my heart every day.

My medical condition requires continuous care, but unfortunately, I cannot afford the treatments and the prosthetic leg that would help me regain some independence. Without this, I remain confined to my home, unable to contribute or provide for my family. This has put tremendous pressure on my wife and children, who struggle alongside me in this harsh reality.

Despite everything, I refuse to give up hope. I believe in the kindness of people around the world who can help me rebuild my life. Your generosity could give me a second chance to stand on my own feet—literally and figuratively. A prosthetic leg will not only restore my mobility but also bring back my dignity and ability to work.

Every donation will go directly towards medical treatments, the purchase of a prosthetic leg, and basic needs for my family. I dream of being able to support my loved ones again, to provide them with a better future, and to live a life with dignity and purpose.
