Help Kara continue to win her battle against cancer, while helping others along the way.
We all know Kara, as KZ, the Holistic Health Coach. Kara has been with working with clients and patients for years in order to help them take control of their own health and reach their goals in weight loss and wellness.
Kara is a single mother and has always been independent and hard-working, with a background in healthcare, entrepreneurial skills, and owning a small business.
Just before Kara became sick, she had expanded her Health Coaching business by adding Healthy Meal Prep, Charcuterie Boards, Fondue Boards, and Fruit Boards for any occasion. Her business had really picked up and she was cooking and creating weekly to meet the demands of her orders. Kara became so busy with her business and trying to juggle everyday life, that she found no time to focus on her own health and wellness. She was no longer putting herself on the “to do” list and her body began to suffer from it.
Sickness can take over “healthy” people too! Did you know that STRESS is one of the biggest killers! Chronic stress wreaks havoc on the mind and body and is directly linked to inflammation and disease. And more than 75 percent of all physician office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints.
It all started on Dec. 2nd for Kara. She became so sick, it literally hit her out of nowhere and took her down. She was no longer able to work in her business, which was her only income. She was completely bedridden. Of course, her first assumption, along with family and even Doctor...was that this was Covid. But after several negative Covid tests and her body steadily declining, Kara was sent to several specialists. After many, many tests and ER visits for severe dehydration, iron infusions, and a blood transfusion for a severe hemorrhage, Kara then had a CT scan that revealed a cancerous mass pressing against her left ureter, causing her left kidney to become compromised.
Doctors said this meant there was no option for surgery. Cutting into the mass would cause the cancer cells to spread to other parts of the body. Kara was told that this was a “life or death” situation for her. She had to make immediate decisions that were super scary and even against her personal beliefs. Kara has just finished 5 weeks of Chemo and Radiation and is now working on detoxing the poison from her body.
She is now focusing on diet, supplements, and holistic protocol to rebuild her immune system and keep the cancer stem cells from growing back. Kara endured much more than she thought was even possible. She went through so many weeks, that turned into months, of literally not being able to lift her head up or move without help. Her Mom had to shower her, push her in a wheelchair appointments, try to feed her( which was almost impossible at times), and even just lay a pillow on the bathroom floor for her when she couldn’t even make it back to the bed. Kara thought she had been through some hard and painful things in life, but nothing that even came close to these last 3 months for her.
The picture on the top was taken January 22nd and the picture on the bottom was taken just after the completion of Chemo and Radiation, this month...the very first day in over 3 months, that she has had enough energy to get out of pajamas, put on a little makeup, do hair, and step outside in the backyard to take take some pics.
Kara thanks God everyday for giving her the strength and knowledge she needed to get through this and will continue to need. She thanks her family for never leaving her side. Kara has such a new-found appreciation for life, love, and the world! She has plans to continue her Health, Wellness, and Food business, which will be transitioning to the name “Spread the Love”. Kara has plans to create a support group/non-profit foundation in order to manage a “buddy” program for cancer patients to make the process from diagnosis, to treatment, to aftercare a much easier transition with all the tools, resources, and support needed. Kara also understands that financial support is a huge factor and wants to help make that easier as well.
Kara understands that this support group/non-profit is so very much needed, due to her own experiences. She had one phone call with her Oncologist and given a few “what to expect”handouts and told she should not have many side effects. This was the exact opposite of what Kara experienced. She had terrible side effects from the Chemo and Radiation that caused weekly ER visits for her and for her to be bedridden at home.
Kara was not given any help or suggestions for home remedies or help with easing these side effects, other than more prescription drugs, which then caused other side effects.
Kara spent hours online doing her own research and reaching out to Holistic friends who were a big help.
Kara understands that there is also not much information shared for aftercare. She was just told to go back home and continue living life the way she used to. Well, Kara knows this is not right.
Even when told you are in “remission” or “NED”, you can’t forget about Cancer. You have to continue to live every day to keep these stem cells from growing back, and that is through proper diet, exercise, supplements, vitamins, minerals, and living as stress-free as possible.
This non-profit/support group is now Kara’s dream and she would love you to help bring it to life. It will be called “Spread the Love”, which will be a spinoff of her Food Business.
A part of all proceeds in her business and 50% of this fund will go towards building this support group for Cancer patients. The other 50% of this fund will help Kara cover some of her expenses, because she has not been able to work during this time, due to her condition and medical bills which are piling up.
Let's help Kara by reaching this goal! She is passionate about helping others, but as many of you may relate, sometimes when you are a giver, help is hard to ask for and accept from others. Even though Kara did not ask for this, we, her friends, would like to bless her since she has been a huge blessing to many of us! God Bless you and thank you for your prayers and your amazing support to Kara during these difficult times!
