Help Me Rebuild a Safe Home for My Daughter After a Medical Crisis.
Twenty-four days ago, my life stopped.
I was hospitalized for 24 days due to a serious medical crisis. While I was in the hospital, my husband made the decision to fly our daughter to stay with family so she would be cared for while I recovered. At the time, I trusted that this was temporary and that we would reunite as a family once I was home.
Since then, everything has changed.
That family is now preparing to move to Oklahoma next weekend, and I am in the middle of a sudden, messy divorce. My husband is no longer communicating with me or offering meaningful support beyond the bare minimum. I am left trying to rebuild my life, protect my relationship with my daughter, and create stability — all at once, and very quickly.
Right now, I urgently need to raise enough funds within the next week to show that I can provide a safe, stable home for my daughter here in Colorado, close to my mother and support system. Even having funds set aside toward housing would allow me to say, “This is where we are going. This is how we begin again.”
The money raised will go toward:
• Securing housing (deposit, first month’s rent, and utilities)
• Transportation so I can begin working (I plan to start Uber Eats delivery immediately)
• Basic legal expenses related to my divorce and custody matters
• Essential living costs during this transition
I am not asking for luxury — only stability. A place where my daughter can come home to. A car so I can work. A chance to rebuild after an unexpected medical crisis turned into the loss of my marriage, my home, and my sense of safety all at once.
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to ask for, but I am choosing to ask because my daughter deserves to know that her mom is fighting for her, for our future, and for a life rooted in safety and love.
If you’re able to help — by donating or sharing — please know that it means more than I can put into words. Thank you for being part of our new beginning.
With gratitude,
Kara
