Losing my emotional support animal of 12 years in October was heartbreaking, and now, just as we are grieving, her sister Kara has been diagnosed with cancer in her lymph node. On 11/18/2025, we received the news, and it came as a shock as she is so young. We had to spend our savings on the care and passing of our first pet, and now the costs for Kara’s vet bills, labs, and medications are piling up quickly.

Kara is smart, inquisitive, and shy but always curious. She loves to sleep on humans rather than next to them, and her vocal, expressive nature has brought so much joy into our lives. She came into our family as a playmate for our emotional support animal who passed, and the two became inseparable. Kara has been grieving her sister in her own way, and we want to give her every chance to fight this illness and continue being the loving presence that fills our home with comfort and warmth.

We are raising funds to cover the additional labs needed to determine the source of her cancer, as well as appointments with the oncologist and the costs of treatment and medications.
