This was a very wicked storm. Our town, Kankakee, was hit hard by a tornado that took off our roof, shattered multiple windows, and damaged our cars. Now, we are left with nothing. While we do have insurance, it isn’t enough to cover the full extent of the losses. This year has already been financially difficult for our family, and now we’re struggling to figure out if our house can even be repaired or if we’ll have to move.

The tornado didn’t just damage our property—it turned our lives upside down. We lost so many personal belongings, family memories, and the sense of security we once had in our home. Our children are having a hard time understanding why this happened, and we’re doing our best to stay strong for them. The schools in our area were also impacted, and our whole community is trying to come together to support one another during this difficult time.

The funds raised will go directly to help my family and others, as we all lost things that can never be replaced. We simply do not have the resources to replace two cars, everything in our home, and the roof. Any support means the world to us. Let’s build together and lift each other up.
