Help Kane (fka Boo-Boo) Heal: A Second Chance for a Brave SJRAS Alumni

Meet Kane, formerly known as Boo-Boo — a sweet, gentle soul and proud alum of the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter (SJRAS). Once severely overlooked because of his visible wounds, Kane waited patiently for someone to look past his pain and see the beautiful, loving dog he truly is. That miracle happened when his incredible forever family chose him — not despite his wounds, but because they knew he deserved love and healing.

But Kane’s fight isn’t over yet.

Although he’s now surrounded by compassion and care, Kane continues to suffer from the painful legacy of his neglected past. His family has already gone above and beyond, getting him into surgery to try and repair his injuries. Unfortunately, that first surgery didn’t resolve the issue. His eye still oozes pus and bleeds, leaving him in constant pain. The discomfort is so intense that Kane no longer eats well and has lost the joy to play with his beloved fur sibling — a heartbreaking change for such a spirited pup.

Now, time is critical. Kane is scheduled for a cat-scan on Monday, which will help determine the next steps before a second, more advanced surgery is performed.
