Kane Perris is a 25-year-old vision impaired athlete with great ambitions of pursuing a career in Para sprint cycling on the tandem bike on the Velodrome. Kane embarked on his cycling journey in 2020 with the TID (talent identification) program led by WAIS (Western Australian Institute of Sport) and was selected to train for a chance at selection for Tokyo 2020. Unfortunately, a serious injury meant that selection wasn't possible for Tokyo however, following 12 months of intensive rehab the opportunity has arisen again for exciting racing opportunities 2023.
Kane hopes that all of his hard work, resilience and drive culminate in the UCI Para World championships 2023 in Glasgow. The world's greatest riders will get together and compete at the highest level, making history and Kane hopes he can show the world the power of the Tandem bike and Para sport. Kane has a great passion for inclusion in exercise and sport and hopes with your support he could take his message to the world stage and provide hope for those living with a disability.
I am seeking financial support that will enable me to attend a Vision impaired classification event in Paris this October to confirm my eligibility to compete in the B (Blind) category of Para cycling. Without financial support for last minute flights, accommodation and other incurred travel expenses I will be unable to attend, making me ineligible to compete in events in 2023.
Any support would go a long way for Kane's journey to classification.
