Help Kandi with cancer treatment expenses
In March of 2021 Kandi was diagnosed with breast cancer; both Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) & invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). It was thankfully caught early and in stage 1A. After a segmental mastectomy and removal of a few lymph nodes she got confirmation that there was no lymph node involvement. However, the tumor was much more aggressive than we hoped and the HERS 2 test came back positive; which means she needs to have chemotherapy prior to radiation. Kandi will have a total of 4 chemotherapy treatments over 12 weeks (3 weeks apart). About a month after chemotherapy she will need 4 weeks of radiation; 5 days a week totaling 20 treatments. Ending with hormone treatment medication for the next 5-10 years.
Since Kandi started this journey she has been having appointments, lab work, and treatments 2-3 days a week out of town and once she starts radiation it will be 5 days a week. Kandi has been out of work and disabled since 2012 due to her progressive Lupus. We are staring this (fundraiser) on behalf of Kandi to help raise money to help lessen the load of her costs. Kandi’s insurance isn’t covering everything and the cost are adding up quickly. We hope that we can at least help Kandi not have the burden of out of pocket expenses so that she can focus on her treatments and recovery. If you are able to gift it would be an additional blessing but most of all we ask that you please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through this chapter and thank you for being a part of her cancer fighting warriors.
