Hi, my name is KaMya Montgomery, and I’m currently a senior at North Carolina Central University majoring in Social Work and Criminal Justice. I’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this point in my academic journey, and I’m just months away from graduating. But now, I’m facing a serious financial hurdle that could prevent me from crossing that finish line.
Recently, NCCU raised tuition without prior notice, creating a financial strain I was not prepared for. Despite working part-time, budgeting carefully, and applying for scholarships, I’m unable to cover the unexpected cost increase. I’m reaching out for support so I can continue my education and graduate on time this December.
This degree is more than a personal goal—it’s a mission. My passion lies in supporting underserved communities, advocating for justice, and creating real change for individuals and families who feel forgotten by the system. After graduation, I plan to apply to a prestigious 5-year dual-degree program at UNC Chapel Hill, where I will be earning my Master of Social Work (MSW) and my law degree (JD). This opportunity will allow me to combine social work and legal advocacy to fight for those who need a voice the most.
I’ve come too far to stop now. Every donation—no matter how big or small—will go directly toward covering my tuition and ensuring I stay on track to graduate. If you believe in education, equity, and the power of giving people a chance, please consider donating or sharing my story.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. ❤️
Let’s finish this race strong—together.
With gratitude,
KaMya Montgomery
