This spring break the Foltz family had a vacation planned. Five days before they were to leave Kamryn, their 5 year old daughter, had a cough and low grade fever so they took her to the doctor to see if she needed treatment. The doctor did a chest x-ray to make sure it wasn't pneumonia. Who knew an x-ray could turn a family's life upside down? It showed a very large mass in her chest, diagnosed as a probable ganglioneuroblastoma. Those 5 days before their trip were filled with lots of appointments, tests, bloodwork and sleepless nights. They finally got the ok to go on vacation and enjoy a week of pure fun before they got home to start a very long journey.

     Kamryn has already been so brave and has become a pro with enduring IV sticks. She calls the needle and IV tubing her noodle, her parents call her “noodle brave”. Her MIBG scan looks promising and she has surgery scheduled for the 19th of this month to remove the mass. These medical bills (including hotel stays and meals) are adding up quickly as is all of the unpaid time off Nicole and Tom are having to take.
