Hi, I'm Gabriel - you might know me as Kamrah, international belly dancer and teacher - but what you might not know is I am also a software developer. I developed ShimmyGen, the only belly dance app made for dancers by dancers, and I have a lot of other ideas for software for dancers. Belly dancers, specifically, of course, because that is my community.

What you also might not know is I have fallen on very, very, very, very hard times due to various factors out of my control: the state of the US government and who is in charge, the economy, the job market (specifically AI stealing jobs), and the fact that I am loudly transgender on the internet (which is sort of under my control...). Anyway...I have been unemployed for two years, and I am trying to eventually flee the US for my safety (again), but that has run into some major visa issues as well...

I have a ton of ideas for software for dancers, but the problem is supporting myself while I develop. Software development is slow, sometimes, and it can take months (or years) to develop apps. I have been supporting myself with tiny amounts I get through dance and subscriptions, but I have to do weird, odd jobs that take up a lot of my time to make ends meet. That leaves me with little time to develop, as I have to prioritize what makes me money over passion projects.

That is where you come in. I'm asking for donations to get this off the ground. I want to throw all my time into dance, and that includes developing software for dancers. Right now I have two major projects I am working on:

These will take time. A lot of time. I'm asking for support for myself while I get these projects off the ground, until I can start making money off of the apps themselves. I have other ideas, too, but those are still in the "thinking about it" stage.
