My name is Kamiron, and I suffered an accident in 2022 that rendered me paralyzed. Since then, I’ve become hugely involved with the disability and SCI community across the world, speaking on panel discussions, advocating locally, and working outreach to ensure our homeless population have access to the wheelchairs they need.
In summer of 2024, I was able to attend a weeklong program in Rhode Island called Empower SCI. Empower is a summer intensive program for people with spinal cord injuries, where you participate in adaptive recreation, and work daily with intensive PT/OT towards goals to be independent with your care. I was also able to attend in 2025, thanks to a generous grant program.

This year, I’ve been accepted to the adult program in Montana, and I have never been more excited to work on my goals. Since my injury, I have recently gotten new leg braces, and a big goal of mine is standing again. I need Empower’s help to make that happen, and I need your help to make Empower happen.
Empower’s tuition cost is $2,500, which covers my stay in Montana, meals, therapy programs, and the equipment to help me do activities I can’t otherwise.
My goal is to raise this money by May 31st, because Empower begins the second week of June.
I plan to be fully responsible for my flight costs, so I’ve left those out of my fundraising goal. Any amount helps us get closer, and even just sharing the link gets this closer to people who might be able to donate. Thank you kindly!
